Jessica Liaw, O.D., F.A.A.O., F.S.L.S.

Dr. Jessica Liaw grew up in the Seattle area. She earned her B.S. Physiology with Honors from the University of Washington and her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry. She completed a residency in cornea and contact lenses at Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University.

Dr. Liaw’s interest in myopia management comes from her experience growing up with nearsightedness, which made balancing school and sports challenging. Discovering treatments that slow myopia progression, reduce the risk of future eye disease, and boost children's confidence in sports, activities, academics, and overall quality of life fueled her motivation to deepen her expertise. She is proficient in techniques such as orthokeratology (Ortho-K), MiSight, multifocal soft contact lenses, and atropine treatments.

In addition, Dr. Liaw specializes in fitting specialty contact lenses, including corneal and scleral gas permeable contact lenses. Her expertise is particularly focused on addressing the needs of patients with irregular corneas such as in keratoconus, ocular surface disease, and severe refractive errors.

Dr. Liaw is passionate about her career as an optometrist, as it enables her to connect with patients of all ages and backgrounds while treating a wide range of complex eye conditions. She is a distinguished Fellow of both the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and the Scleral Lens Education Society (FSLS). Dr. Liaw is also an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Optometric Physicians of Washington.

Outside of work, Dr. Liaw's personal interests extend to her former passion as a competitive figure skater. She finds joy in spending time at the ice-skating rink and maintaining an active lifestyle. Additionally, she enjoys exploring hiking trails, playing pickleball, and skiing in her leisure time.
